The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) or CEA has announced the success of the Bangkok International Content Market 2026 (BICM2026), Thailand’s first international marketplace dedicated to content trading and business matching, held under the Thailand Content Market 2026 (TCM2026) from 20 – 22 July 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok.

The inaugural event generated more than 1,200 business matching meetings, representing an estimated business value exceeding THB 2.2 billion. More than 600 participants, including content companies, production studios, distributors and streaming platforms from Thailand and overseas, took part across the film, television series and production services sectors. The strong outcome further reinforces Thailand’s growing role as the Content Hub of Asia.

Throughout the three-day event, BICM2026 attracted enthusiastic participation from content creators, buyers, and investors across the region, highlighting the industry’s demand for a dedicated marketplace where content can be traded, financed, and co-produced through a structured business platform. The event successfully addressed a long-standing gap in Thailand’s content ecosystem by demonstrating that when creators, investors and buyers come together in a professional marketplace, tangible business partnerships can be achieved.

Theevent’s flagship Business Matching program facilitated one-to-one meetings between content owners and buyers from Thailand and abroad, resulting in concrete business opportunities ranging from content licensing and adaptation rights acquisitions to international co-production agreements.

BICM2026 also strengthened Thailand’s collaboration with leading content markets across Asia, including QCinema International Film Festival (Philippines), JAFF Market (Indonesia), Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) (Taiwan) and Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) (Vietnam). These partnerships further reinforce Thailand’s strategic position as the Gateway to ASEAN, providing access to a consumer market of more than 700 million people.

Another major highlight was the BICM Pitching & Awards, supported by White Light Studio, Kantana Sound Studio, Gear Head, and QCinema International Film Festival. More than 55 production-ready film, series, and screenplay projects were presented to international investors and an esteemed panel of industry experts.

The Industry Forum and Workshop sessions also received an overwhelming response from entrepreneurs, buyers, sellers, students, and the general public. Sessions exploring the future direction of the industry proved particularly popular, including “Regional Content Spotlights: From Local Hits to Global Formats”, “Incentives for Foreign Film Productions: Attracting International Productions and Elevating Local VFX & Animation”, and “Incentives for Domestic Thai Film Productions: Transforming Government Support into Professional Film Management.”
